From dashboards to conversations: AI assistants for operations teams

Operations teams are surrounded by data and still wait for answers. The information sits in dashboards, reports and systems, and getting a specific answer means knowing where to look and how to combine what you find.

What an operations assistant does

A conversational assistant lets people ask in plain language, by text or speech, and answers from live data. “Which sites are underperforming against forecast today?” “What changed overnight?” “Show me the trend for this asset over the last week.”

Done well, it can also help people interpret what they see, pointing out trends and anomalies and suggesting where to look next.

What it takes to make one trustworthy

Live, governed data. The assistant is only as good as the data it can reach. That means reliable pipelines that cleanse, align and structure data from many sources.

Forecasts and context. Combining current values with model forecasts lets it say not just what is happening but what is expected.

Multi-site awareness. Operators often manage many assets. The assistant has to understand the structure of the estate.

Controlled behaviour. It answers from approved data, shows its sources, respects permissions and stays within its purpose. Anything that changes a system needs approval.

Text and speech. Operators in the field or in a control room may prefer to talk.

Where to start

Start with a defined group of users and a defined set of questions. Check the answers against what experts would say. Widen the scope as trust grows. The first release does not need to take actions: answering questions well is valuable on its own.

How we approach it

We offer AI assistants for energy operations that combine live data, forecasts and multi-site awareness. See our Agentic AI and Energy & Critical Infrastructure work.
